Michael Essien spent part of his busy schedule to socialise with some Islamic orphans in Indonesia to bring an end to their Ramadan fasting, despite not being a Muslim.
The 34-year-old sealed a move to Persib Bundung in the Indonesian topflight league this season and has since been trying to acclimatise himself to the weather and get abreast to their culture.

Essien has taken upon himself to embark on a number of social activities such as volunteering to train young footballers in the Asian country and as they observe the 30 days of fasting and prayers he contributed his quota to put smiles on the faces of some orphans by going through the rituals with them.

Michael Essien, who has had stints with Liberty Professionals, Lyon, Chelea, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Panathinaikos is gradually adapting to football in Indonesia.
